Use a 5V/2A power bank or adapter. With 5V/1A the light flashes and the product does not heat up. Intended for comfort, not for medical treatment. Do not use while sleeping, by young children or by people who cannot feel heat properly. Disconnect the power before washing, wash by hand and let it air dry; do not machine wash or wring.
